I'm ginger now. I'm slightly disappointed that no one at work has even noticed.
I really rather like it. It's quite a subtle auburny ginger. I only did it as a temporary wash-in colour, but I think I may keep it. Though I may need to get this done properly to avoid my highlights turning orange.

I think I'm confused as to what ginger is in the context of hair.
It's mainly used as synonymous with "red" in England.
Proper ginger is actually a similar colour to what North Americans call "strawberry blonde" - that sort of pale, orangey colour hair that looks a bit like a tomcat. Often proper gingers have absurdly white eyelashes as well as ginger hair.
What I mean is that my hair has orangey undertones, rather than red undertones or purple undertones (such as many intense red dyes use these days).
